"Merryn’s approach is a tour de force, combining and contrasting the thinking of some of the world’s greatest thinkers.
“Her summaries and commentaries prepare the ground for further exploration and reflection."
Starting in the 1950s. a set of the world's great books
was published by Encyclopedia Brittanica.
Updated in the 1990s to include 60 volumes and 130 authors,
these great works are the golden thread of thought tying us to the wisdom of the ages.
I live a completely different life, a far better life,
because of the Great Books.
I add to these books the Classics of Literature, as well.
I cannot leave my mission in life undone
until I share these greatest thoughts of humankind with you.
These thoughts are divinely beautiful, supremely powerful, deeply kind, ever faithful,
delightfully humorous, and they are your rightful heritage.
Let’s begin with the delightfully humorous!
Do people really sit down in a leather chair, next to their brass lamp
and read the 60 Volumes and 130 Authors
featured in the Great Books of the Western World?
What if I say
"YES! "
Let's begin with Homer!
I will share with you a process for reading the Great Books
that will show you your unique place on the wheel of life
and open your mind to understand the wisdom of these great writers.
And, may I add, I will help with your pocketbook, as well.
You don't need to buy that 60-volume set of the Great Books - unless you want to. They do look really great on your bookshelf.
But, you can find these books in your local library and used bookstores.
Many are free to read online. I'll even provide the links!
By joining our Great Conversation, I will share with you a meaningful process that takes off the burden from trying to navigate something so huge as 60 volumes with 130 authors and frees you to naturally unlock the enlightening ideas that can change the very path of your destiny.
This conversation has gone on for 30 centuries, starting with the Ancient Greeks and even before. You have already participated in this Great Conversation, even if you did not know it, because it is woven into the very fabric of our society.
The Great Books are divided into four main categories.
• Great Literature
• Mathematics and Natural Sciences
• Philosophy and Theology
• The Rights of Man - History and Social Sciences
I am not some great sage or anything, above you.
We are all great thinkers.
Mortimer Adler, one of the founders of the Great Books of the Western World,
understood that we are all more intelligent than we realize.
You are very important, and we need your good thoughts.
You are at the center of your place in the universe, creating ripples of precious
thoughts in the pond of all humanity's yearnings for generations to come.
Your good thoughts will be moving out for centuries
and in centuries of time from the moment you join the Great Conversation,
your influence will reach countless people just at the instant of time
when they really need you.
Thank goodness you are here today, to think your good thoughts.
My vision is to gather a group of fellow thinkers!
My mission is to guide you in the path that will open your mind to the
102 Great Ideas that are presented
throughout the Great Books,
giving you a framework for answering the deepest questions
that have ever puzzled the mind and stirred the soul of all humanity,
This is truly one of the most wonderful invitations you will ever receive in your lifetime.
DID YOU KNOW THAT EINSTEIN AND HIS FRIENDS
STARTED THEIR OWN GROUP OF GREAT BOOKS READERS
WHILE HE WAS WORKING AT THE PATENT OFFICE,
BEFORE HE WROTE HIS GREAT SCIENTIFIC PAPERS
THAT CHANGED THE WORLD?
So, Dear Readers, and Thinkers, and Writers, and Poets, and Artists
This is what I am proposing.
Let's band together and start our own Great Conversation.

(And no, it's not a gimmick.)
I am selling each book at the cost of printing, fulfillment, and shipping, and not a penny more.
Why am I doing this?
Because I'm a saint.
But really, there are two reasons I'm doing this.
First, I spent over a year reverse-engineering how the Zettelkasten really works. I did this by writing out by hand many of Niklas Luhmann's notecards (the Godfather of the Antinet Zettelkasten).
I'm doing this because I don't want you to waste a year of your life doing this! I've already done the legwork for you. I'd rather you learn the Antinet, and create the work you're uniquely called to create.
I'm doing this because I've experienced the power of the system firsthand. It's changed my life, and my only regret is that I didn't learn it earlier!
Therefore, my goal is to get this book into as many hands as possible.
The second reason I'm selling this book at cost is because I know by transforming your life, you may become interested in other things I share that will transform you even further!
That's all.
I know the Antinet Zettelkasten will change your life, and I can't wait for you to read it!

Meet The Person Resurrecting the Art of Reading...
Merryn Olson Flavell grew up in the Chicago area and had the great advantage of attending the Art Institute of Chicago Junior School for 6 years. She earned a bachelor's degree in fine arts from Grand Valley University in Allendale, Michigan and worked for the Chicago Y.M.C.A., American Youth Hostels in Cable, Wisconsin, and Outward Bound in Ely, Minnesota.
After marrying, Merryn Flavell became a resident manager for residential living programs in the Twin Cities area. This work evolved into a teaching career, which opened-up opportunities for writing math, science and language arts curriculum. She earned her K-6 teaching certificate from Augsburg University, her master's degree from St. Mary's University, and her math and language arts middle school licensures and Ed.S. certificate from the University of Minnesota.
Through it all, Mrs. Flavell loved reading the Great Books and the Classics, which led to living a very different kind of life, a life filled with the great ideas of mankind. As part of her studies, Flavell wrote a bachelor's degree in the Great Books, which was approved by the Minnesota Office of Higher Education in 2005.
Mrs. Flavell is also trained in The Science of Reading, TEFL-TESOL for English Learners, Art Therapy, and the Barton Reading and Spelling Program for students with dyslexia. (Also, Zumba and Yoga, but I am not really very good at them!) She writes and illustrates books in four categories, the Great Books, Christian Fiction, Curriculum in Math, Science, Social Studies and Reading, and Children's Books.
Merryn Flavell is a wife, mother, grandmother, and a dog mom to a sweet English Springer Spaniel, named Joy. She and her husband enjoy swimming together and taking their Airstream on camping trips. She loves to crochet and walk with Joy every day.
Does this seem like... a lot? Just do the math and it explains everything.
